IBM Speed Teams Internship - a new shade of Extreme Blue

As a member of a project- and team-based internship program called IBM Speed Teams, you'll have the opportunity to be a top performer in any one of a variety of successful business units. Similar to Extreme Blue™ project teams, Speed Teams work alongside business and technical mentors on challenging projects in a real-world setting. You'll gain first-hand knowledge of driving project results end-to-end while getting exposure to IBM and our innovative culture. You'll work on a small team with other bright and talented people who demonstrate desire and passion for what they do. All Co-op candidates must be registered as a full-time student and will complete their degree after this assignment has ended.

Speed Teams are determined by IBM's business needs, vary by location, and predominately run in the summer. Projects range from technical to marketing (a combination of both) to research, and to HR–related topics. In Rochester, for example, a project team worked on transforming some legacy applications to be more portable and highly available, while others focused on some of the iSeries® toolboxes, WebSphere® Portal and iSeries access for the Web. These are the kinds of opportunities you'll find throughout IBM, and specifically, with a Speed Teams experience—exciting and demanding opportunities that can make a difference.

We're currently recruiting for the following skills to participate on Speed Teams: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Marketing, and Human Factors Engineering. We also look for candidates from other disciplines such as Math, Finance, HR, Business or other technical degrees.

IBM Speed Teams have run at the following IBM locations: Austin, Texas; Beaverton, Ore.; Boulder, Colo.; Cambridge, Mass.; Burlington, Vt.; Endicott, N.Y.; Kansas City, MS; Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; Rochester, Minn.; Raleigh, N.C; Tucson, AZ; Washington, DC; and Yorktown Heights, NY. International sites include: Hursley, England; Boeblingen, Germany; and Bangalore, India. Next summer, we hope to run projects at all of these sites and more!
